Senator Andy Nichols Honor Award 2018 Winner: Jill DeZapien
On October 2nd 2018, the Arizona Public Health Association held its annual award dinner on the eve of its 90th annual conference. Jill DeZapien was invited to attend as one of the numerous nominees for this prestigious public health award. The Andy Nichols award is awarded to those who have made outstanding contributions to public health through the development of good public health policy.
Jill DeZapien was the award recipient this year following her years of dedication to the Community Health Worker movement and her support and much needed effort that aided in the passing of House Bill 2324. Below is Ms.DeZapien acceptance speech:
